The Jeppiaar Educational Trust under the Chairmanship of Honourable Jeppiaar was formed in 1987 with the purpose of furthering Technical Education by establishing Engineering Colleges and Schools of Management Studies. Jeppiaar Engineering College is one of the institutions of Jeppiaar Educational Trust that was started on 15th August 2001 with affiliation to Anna University, Chennai. At VIT, semester pattern is followed. An academic year consists of two semesters. The Fall (Odd) Semester begins in June and the Winter (Even) Semester in December. The academic schedule mentioned in the academic calendar will be strictly followed.
